Keyword SEO – Important or Not?
Back in the late 90’s and into the millennium, people would use the keyword density method and would stuff their articles and web content with their particular keyword. As well all know, Google tends to not like people exploiting them so Google made it a little difficult to such things without getting penalized for it.
Writing thoughtful and though provoking articles and website content is important now more then it has ever been. You want to capture your readers and engage them into coming back for more. Granted, although keyword density may not have been as successful as it had been in the past, it is still a very important part of making your site search engine friendly. As an seo writer myself, I do keep count of how often I use a keyword in an article and usually end up writing articles that have the specific keyword make up about 5-7% of the total words written. This has been working fairly nice for me and I will continue to maintain that percentage moving forward.
What’s so important about keywords?
Having a keyword or keywords that best fit the type of information that is going to be represented on your site is always important. Make sure that you choose relative keywords. You don’t want to write an article on chicken and use “beef” as your keyword.
Remember that it is important to always keep your keyword in mind but don’t over do it. If you do, Google could take your ranking away from you and then your left without a hope of getting your site to where it could potentially be best beneficial to you. Keep your content fresh and make sure that everything on your site is related to your subject. This includes outgoing links to sites and incoming links to your site.

Very good points. Also, if your site is focused one particular niche, it is also good to have a SEO friendly domain name as well.
