Blogger Success without SEO!
Did you know that there are successful bloggers that have been extremely successful earners due to their hard work and devotion to their site (outside of the world wide web)? huh? Let me explain. Recently, I took the opportunity to chat with a very successful blogger who took a very broad subject, personal finance, and began blogging to a specific targeted audience. What started racing through my mind was that she must have used seo to attract specific targeted traffic. There couldn’t be any other explanation for the nearly 16,000 unique hits in a single month earlier this year. How did she do it? What I heard completely blew me away!
As most have heard before, seo is a way of using tactical methods and strategies to get your blog noticed. In essence, its a marketing and advertising strategy that can make you or break you. Well, more like make you period! However, its not the only way to get your site noticed. A few weeks ago I started to pay close attention to some of the statistical information for websites that I found were good examples of successful sites or blogs. As I began to look closely at one, I started asking myself if this particular blogger used seo on her site. After asking, the answer was “no uh.” “Then perhaps it was submission traffic sites?” “Nope”, she said.
So what could have been driving all this traffic to her site? Then it dawned on me, it must have been “carefully placed advertisements to market her blog, that’s it!” “Nope” she replied. So what is it then? What was driving such quality traffic to her site? The answer is… in-links and working hard outside of the world wide web. What? As it turns out, she had created a group of individuals like her that met up frequently to discuss financial matters and struggles. Isn’t that awesome! She generated some well targeted traffic by exposing herself to other individuals that supported her effort in her personal finance. Having a support base is essential to growth!
This group eventually came to be featured on MSNBC as a group of women who worked together to free themselves from debt and organize their personal finances. This blogger has such an amazing devotion to personal finance for women that she started making change locally. What started as a small group to help encourage others to defeat debt had become a mere stepping stone for sharing personal finance growth online! The owner of this group and site has now been offered a book deal and is looking for ways to expand her readership base. She has accomplished many things and has really done some unique stuff in her particular niche as a personal finance writer, focused on a female audience. Most recently, she was able to interview one of the most successful financial gurus, Suze Orman!
She also mentioned that she didn’t exactly do much in terms of using keyword seo or any kind of seo work on her site. That’s incredible! Now she is taking appropriate steps to try and optimize her site plus has flourished in the social networking world! With over thousands of followers and friends and such, she is quickly becoming one of my closest online buddies who has had great recognition! Yay!
Anyways, I wrote this article to say one thing. Let your devotion be driven by motivation. Focus on your particular goal and try to narrow it down to something specific. From there, work hard at doing everything possible to make it work locally! The best bet is, if you succeed locally, you might just be at the initial stages of something with great potential. Success is not derived from external means, its what’s inside of you that brings about fulfilled dreams. Remember that!

SUCCEED LOCALLY… I love it! Makes total sense. That is how most franchises start out, so it makes sense that it could work out for online businesses as well. Great post!
